{ Conference Cambridge Names Cambridgeshire Hospice As Its Designated Charity For 2016 }

The official free venue-finding service for Cambridge University and its Colleges, as well as hotels and other unique properties in and around the city, has officially named its charity for 2016.

Conference Cambridge has partnered with Cambridgeshire-based Arthur Rank Hospice Charity, which will be the beneficiary of its fundraising events over the next 12-months, as well as receiving assistance with sourcing facilities for its meetings and other activities.

Currently in the fundraising pipeline are plans for two Quiz Evenings and a Client Event with raffle.

The Conference Cambridge team is also planning to take part in the Hospice’s Star Shine Stroll in May to raise funds, as well as volunteering on occasions such as Collection Days.

Laura Worsley, Events Executive at Conference Cambridge said: “When considering which charity to support for 2016, we wanted a local organisation with which people had a relationship. Among our team, Arthur Rank Hospice Charity is very close to our hearts, as we all know someone who has needed and benefitted from its wonderful care. Also, Jennifer Brook, our Managing Bursar, is a Trustee and so we knew first-hand of the excellent work they do and how much they appreciate support from Cambridge organisations.”

During 2015, Conference Cambridge raised a total of £2009 for Cancer Research UK, through a combination of events and donations. Members of the team also gave their time to help with a number of the charity’s initiatives, as well as finding facilities for events within its portfolio.

Arthur Rank Hospice Charity supports people in Cambridgeshire who are living with a life-limiting illness. To supplement the NHS contribution, the Charity is required to raise £2 million annually to fund vital services and care, which are provided free of charge to patients and their loved ones.
